Privacy Policy
Effective July 31, 2026 · Version 1.0 · Applies to NetP on iOS and Android
This Privacy Policy describes how NoGeography LLC (“NoGeography,” “we,” “us,” or “our”)
collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the NetP mobile applications
and related cloud services (together, the “Service”), including the websites
https://www.netp-app.com and API host
https://api.netp-app.com.
NetP helps you measure, understand, and explore network connectivity (including Wi‑Fi, cellular,
and Starlink where applicable) in the real world, including how connectivity relates to the
places you visit. This policy is intended to work for both Apple App Store / TestFlight and
Google Play / Firebase App Distribution builds.
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use NetP.
1. Who we are
NetP is operated by NoGeography LLC, a Delaware limited liability company.
Postal address: PO Box 64022, Sunnyvale, CA 94089, USA.
Contact for privacy questions:
support@nogeography.co
(or the support contact listed in the App Store / Play Console listing).
2. Scope
This policy covers:
- The NetP iOS app (including TestFlight builds)
- The NetP Android app (including Firebase App Distribution and Google Play testing tracks)
- NetP cloud services, public profile pages, and related web pages we operate for NetP
It does not cover third-party websites, services, or hardware manufacturers (for example Apple,
Google, X/Twitter, SpaceX / Starlink, or your mobile carrier), except as described when we use
their platforms to provide NetP.
3. Information we collect
We collect information needed to operate NetP’s core features: network measurement, place
association, account identity, reliability, and product improvement. Categories include:
3.1 Account and identity
- Sign-in via providers such as Apple, Google, and/or X (Twitter), depending on platform and build.
- Identifiers and profile fields the provider shares with us (for example a stable provider user id, display name, username, profile image URL, and limited account metadata).
- A NetP user id and optional NetP username / public profile details you choose to set.
- Optional profile photo you upload.
We do not receive your Apple ID password or Google password. Sign-in is handled by the identity
provider; we store the credentials and tokens needed to keep you signed in to NetP.
3.2 Device information
- Device model, manufacturer, OS name/version, app version/build, language/locale, timezone
- A NetP device id used to associate measurements and settings with that installation
- Push notification tokens (APNs on Apple platforms; FCM on Android) when notifications are enabled
- Approximate technical environment needed for connectivity features (for example network reachability)
3.3 Location
Location is central to NetP. With your permission, we collect precise location (and, when you
allow it, background location) so we can:
- Associate network measurements with where they occurred
- Detect visits to places (including published places and places you create)
- Show maps, trails, and place-related statistics
- Support features such as recordings and diagnostics that depend on movement or position
You can control location permission in system Settings. If you deny location access, many
NetP features will not work as designed. Background location is used only for NetP features
that require it (for example continuous connectivity measurement while the app is not in the
foreground) and is subject to platform rules and your consent.
3.4 Network and connectivity measurements
- Connection type (for example Wi‑Fi, cellular, Ethernet, disconnected, Starlink-related paths when detected)
- ISP / network identity information derived from network lookups and device reporting
- Latency, jitter, throughput / speed-test results, reachability, and related quality metrics
- Timestamps and duration of connection sessions
- Optional Wi‑Fi / nearby network metadata required for measurement features (subject to platform permissions)
3.5 Places, visits, and user-generated content
- Places you create or edit (name, geometry, type, visibility, and related metadata)
- Visit history and place statistics associated with your account and devices
- Public contributions you choose to publish (for example public places or public profile information)
- Recordings, captures, diagnostic packages, photos, or other uploads you explicitly create or send
3.6 Starlink-related information (when you use those features)
If you connect or claim Starlink-related features, we may process terminal identifiers,
status snapshots, and related telemetry you or the app provide so NetP can display and analyze
that connectivity path.
3.7 Diagnostics, logs, and support
- Crash / error reports and technical logs needed to fix bugs and keep the Service reliable
- Server access logs (for example IP address, timestamps, request routes) for security and operations
- Information you send us when you contact support
3.8 Information we do not sell
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your precise location with
other NetP users as a live “share my exact GPS point” social feed unless a specific feature you
use is designed to disclose something you choose to make public (for example a public place
you create, or a public profile page).
4. How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and improve NetP features (measurements, maps, places, stats, profiles)
- Authenticate you and secure accounts and devices
- Sync your data across your devices and back it up to our cloud services when the product requires it
- Send push notifications you enable (for example product or connectivity-related notices)
- Detect abuse, debug issues, and protect the Service
- Comply with law and enforce our terms
- Produce aggregated or de-identified statistics that do not reasonably identify you
5. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run NetP:
- Service providers that process data on our behalf (notably cloud hosting and infrastructure such as Amazon Web Services; push delivery via Apple / Google; optional distribution platforms such as TestFlight and Firebase App Distribution).
- Identity providers you choose for sign-in (Apple, Google, X).
- Public content you elect to make public (for example a public profile URL on our site, or published places).
- Legal requirements if we are required to disclose information by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transfers if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not rent or sell personal information to data brokers or advertisers.
6. Public profiles and pages
NetP may host public pages (for example device or user summary pages under
https://www.netp-app.com). Content shown there is limited to what the product
is designed to expose publicly. Do not put information in a public profile or public place that
you are not comfortable being public.
7. Permissions (iOS and Android)
Depending on platform and features you use, NetP may request system permissions such as:
- Location (while using the app and, if you allow, in the background)
- Network / Wi‑Fi related access needed for measurement
- Notifications
- Camera or photo library access when you capture or upload images
- Nearby devices / Wi‑Fi permissions on Android where required by the OS
You can revoke permissions in system settings. Revoking permissions may limit or disable related features.
8. Storage, security, and retention
- We store Service data primarily using cloud infrastructure in the United States (including Amazon Web Services).
- We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information (including access controls and encryption in transit where applicable). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
- We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Measurement history, place visits, and account data may be retained until you delete them or delete your account, subject to backup and legal holds.
- Some data also remains on your device until you delete the app or clear app data.
9. Your choices and rights
- Permissions: control location, notifications, camera, and related access in OS settings.
- In-app settings: configure measurement and product settings offered in NetP.
- Account deletion: follow the steps at
https://www.netp-app.com/delete-account
(or contact us) and we will assist with deletion of account data under our control,
subject to legal retention requirements.
- Access / export: contact us to request access to personal information we hold about you, where applicable law provides that right.
- Marketing: NetP is not an ad-supported social network; we do not sell personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Depending on where you live (for example California under the CCPA/CPRA, or the EEA/UK under GDPR),
you may have additional rights to know, delete, correct, or port personal information, and to
opt out of certain processing. To exercise rights, contact us using the details below. We may need
to verify your request. You will not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.
Note (beta): NetP is under active development. We aim to honor applicable privacy rights,
but some self-serve tools may still be limited during beta. Email us and we will help manually
where needed.
10. Children
NetP is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction),
and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has
provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. International users
The Service is operated from the United States. If you use NetP from another country, you
understand that your information may be processed in the United States and other locations
where we or our providers operate, which may have different data-protection rules than your country.
12. Third-party services
Examples of third parties involved in providing NetP include:
- Apple (App Store, TestFlight, Sign in with Apple, APNs, Map / platform services as used by the app)
- Google (Play, Firebase App Distribution, Sign in with Google, FCM, Play services as used by the app)
- X (Twitter) if you choose Sign in with X
- Amazon Web Services for hosting and storage
- Network / measurement endpoints used for latency or speed tests (for example public DNS or speed-test providers configured in the app)
Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.
13. In-app purchases (future)
If NetP offers paid modules or subscriptions, payment is processed by Apple or Google (as
applicable). We receive limited purchase status information needed to unlock features; we do
not receive your full payment card number.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at
https://www.netp-app.com/privacy and change the effective date above.
Material changes may also be communicated in-app or by other reasonable means. Continued use
of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
